SMC Marine Services Pte Ltd was established in 1999 to undertake tug/barge services within the Asian region and principally in Indonesia. The company, which was originally established with 2 vessels, has grown to manage a fleet of 24 vessels comprising 12 sets of tugs and barges of different capacities.

The fleet of vessels are Singapore flagged and managed by the Singapore office with close support and coordination by our Indonesian office at Jakarta and our operations office at Banjarmasin. The management is dedicated to providing the best service to our customers on the most competitive basis at all times. The company aims to double its fleet of vessels within the next 3 years with emphasis on specialized offshore-project vessels and bigger capacity barges of 300' and above paired with Tug boats with more powerful engines delivering superior prodigious power.

All of our vessels are relatively brand-new and very well maintained. They are entered with ClassNK Classification Society, which is a leading member of the International Association Of Classification Societies (IACS) with very high standards of maintenance and safety of vessels. Our vessels are also entered with the Ship Owners' P&I Club, UK (SOP) for P&I cover. SOP is a leading member of the International Group of P&I Clubs based in London and specializes in small vessels such as tugboats and barges.

Our tugboats have varying engine power capacities ranging from 800 H.P. to 2080 H.P. All of our barges are constructed with side boards and utilized principally for the carriage of coal and aggregate. Our vessels ply on both spot voyage charters well as on time charter basis.
